Overview

Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign ordinary passport, aged 18–25 (born between 1 September 2001 and 1 September 2008), physically and mentally healthy, of good character, with no criminal record, and holding a full-time high school diploma or equivalent. Special nationality rules apply for applicants born to Chinese citizen parents or formerly resident in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan. Chinese language proficiency must meet HSK-4 (180 points) or HSK-5 (180 points), as specified by the program.
Application
Applications are submitted online via Peking University’s foreign student application system (http://www.studyatpku.com) from 12:00 on 1 January 2026 to 23:59 on 28 February 2026 (Beijing time). Applicants must pay the application fee after submission. Preliminary examination is held at the end of March 2026; reexamination is held in mid-April 2026.

Required documents include: front page of foreign passport; proof of nationality (with supporting documents depending on background); high school diploma or expected graduation certificate; high school transcripts; personal statement; nationality guarantee; application undertaking; self-introduction video; and completed application form with photo.
