Overview
The Chinese Language Scholarship for Trade Union Cadres from Countries Along the Belt and Road is established to strengthen ties between Chinese trade unions and trade union organisations in Belt and Road countries. It supports eligible cadres to undertake one academic year (12 months) of Chinese language study in China, with instruction delivered in Chinese.
Coverage/Benefits
The scholarship covers tuition (25,000 RMB), on-campus accommodation, living expenses (36,000 RMB per academic year, paid monthly), comprehensive medical insurance (800 RMB), and one-time round-trip economy-class international airfare. Living expenses are prorated based on registration date and cease during absences from China exceeding 15 days for personal reasons.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, physically and mentally healthy, hold a high school diploma or above, be aged 45 years or younger, and have work experience in trade unions. Preference is given to those with prior exchange experience with China. Applicants must not hold another Chinese government scholarship concurrently.
Application
Applications are submitted via the Chinese Government Scholarship Management Information System. Applicants must select "Class A" as the study abroad programme type and enter institution number "00009" (Beijing Language and Culture University). The application period runs from 1 September to 15 July. Applicants must complete all fields in Chinese or English and upload required documents.
Documents
Required documents include the Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form; notarised highest academic qualification certificate and transcripts (with notarised Chinese or English translations if needed); study plan (minimum 500 words); personal resume; physical examination form (valid for six months); and, for applicants under 18, legal guardian documentation in China.
