The Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students supports outstanding non-Chinese students studying or conducting research in Beijing's higher education institutions and research institutes. It offers three categories covering tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance. Overview

The Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students is administered by the Beijing Municipal Government to support outstanding non-Chinese students pursuing studies or research in Beijing's higher education institutions and research institutes.

Coverage/Benefits

Category A covers tuition fees, accommodation fees, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance premiums. Category B covers tuition, accommodation, and comprehensive medical insurance. Category C covers tuition and comprehensive medical insurance premiums.

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals, friendly to China, and abide by Chinese laws and university regulations. Age limits are: ≤25 for undergraduates, ≤35 for master's students, and ≤40 for doctoral students at time of admission. Applicants must meet Peking University’s admission requirements for international students and must not hold other Chinese government scholarships. Language requirement: HSK-4 level 180 points or HSK-5 level 180 points, per programme requirements.

Application

New master's and doctoral applicants submit applications to Peking University in the autumn of the preceding year, then reapply in the spring following the annual Scholarship Application Notice. Undergraduate new students are selected automatically based on admission results and programme requirements. Current students apply annually in September per the official notice.
