Beijing Technology and Business University Chinese Government Scholarship

Overview

This scholarship supports full-time master’s and doctoral study at Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU). The application deadline is 1 April each year. BTBU’s China Scholarship Council (CSC) agency code is 10011.

Coverage

Doctoral students in Food Science and Technology receive: tuition waiver (CNY 38,000/year), accommodation (CNY 12,000/year off-campus or free on-campus dormitory), monthly stipend (CNY 3,500), and medical insurance (CNY 800/year). Master’s students receive accommodation (CNY 8,400/year), monthly stipend (CNY 3,000), and medical insurance (CNY 800/year); stipend amounts vary by field: CNY 2,500/month (Field I), CNY 2,900/month (Field II), CNY 3,400/month (Field III).

Eligibility

Applicants must meet BTBU’s academic admission requirements and language proficiency standards. Doctoral applicants must be under 40 years old; master’s applicants under 35. All applicants must comply with Chinese laws and have no criminal record.

Application

Applicants apply directly to BTBU. Shortlisted candidates undergo evaluation and interview. BTBU nominates successful candidates to the China Scholarship Council (CSC) for final review. Admission documents are issued by BTBU upon CSC approval.

Required documents include: BTBU application form (downloadable from http://admission.btbu.edu.cn); notarised copies of highest diploma and academic transcripts; passport bio-page; completed physical examination form; HSK certificate (for Chinese-taught programmes: HSK 5 or new HSK 4 ≥210) or English proficiency proof (for English-taught programmes: TOEFL iBT ≥70 or IELTS ≥5.5); CV and study plan (minimum 400 words); thesis proposal (for doctoral applicants); two recommendation letters; and one ID photo sent to [email protected]. The CSC online application form must also be submitted.

Required Documents

• •(1) Beijing Technology and Business University Application Form (printed out from BTBU on line application system http://admission.btbu.edu.cn, please be sure to attach a photo), filled in Chinese or in English.
• •(2) Notarized highest diploma and transcripts (photocopy): Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. ( Doctor’s degree applicants need to provide both master and bachelor diplomas and academic records. )
• •(3) A photocopy of the front page of a valid passport. Copy of resident permit if currently in China.
• •(5) Original Chinese language proficient certification or a copy of that with HSK 5or new HSK 4 with score 210 or above, if apply Chinese degree program.
• •(6) The TOEFL iBT score of 70 points at least, or IELTS score at least 5.5 or the relevant certificates of English, if non-native English speaker apply the English program.
• •(7) Resume/CV and study plan (more than 400 words).
