Beijing Technology and Business University Silk Road Scholarship

The Beijing Technology and Business University Silk Road Scholarship is a doctoral-level award for citizens of Belt and Road countries. It covers tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend, and medical insurance for full-time study in the English-taught Doctor of Food Science and Technology programme. Overview

This scholarship supports doctoral students from Belt and Road countries enrolled in the English-taught Doctor of Food Science and Technology programme at Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU). It is awarded under the Chinese Government Scholarship scheme.

Coverage

Tuition: CNY 38,000 per year. Accommodation: CNY 12,000 per year if off campus; free dormitory room on campus. Stipend: CNY 3,500 per month. Medical Insurance: CNY 800 per year.

Eligibility

Applicants must be citizens of Belt and Road countries, under age 40, in good health, law-abiding with no criminal record, and meet BTBU’s admission criteria for academic background, research ability, academic performance, and language proficiency.

Application

Applications must be submitted to BTBU by 15 April each year. BTBU evaluates applications, conducts interviews, and forwards shortlisted candidates to the China Scholarship Council (CSC) for final review. Admission results are communicated by BTBU.

Documents

Required documents include: (1) BTBU online application form (with photo); (2) notarised highest diploma and transcripts (doctoral applicants must submit bachelor’s and master’s diplomas and records); (3) passport bio-page copy (or resident permit if already in China); (4) completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form (in English, signed, stamped, with photo, valid for 6 months); (5) TOEFL iBT ≥70 or IELTS ≥5.5 (for English-taught programmes); (6) CV and study plan (400+ words); (7) thesis proposal; (8) ID photo emailed as 'passport NO. + full name' to [email protected]; (9) completed Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form (BTBU code: 10011); (10) two recommendation letters; (11) notarised Chinese or English translations for documents not in those languages.

Required Documents

  • (1) Beijing Technology and Business University Application Form (printed out from BTBU on line application system http://admission.btbu.edu.cn, please be sure to attach a photo), filled in Chinese or in English.
  • (2) Notarized highest diploma and transcripts (photocopy): Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. ( Doctor’s degree applicants need to provide both master and bachelor diplomas and academic records. )
  • (3) A photocopy of the front page of a valid passport. Copy of resident permit if currently in China.
  • (5) Original Chinese language proficient certification or a copy of that with HSK 5or new HSK 4 with score 210 or above, if apply Chinese degree program.
  • (6) The TOEFL iBT score of 70 points at least, or IELTS score at least 5.5 or the relevant certificates of English, if non-native English speaker apply the English program.
  • (7) Resume/CV and study plan (more than 400 words).
  • (8) Thesis proposal .
  • ( 9 ) E-version of ID photo, named with "passport NO. + full name" and sent to: [email protected].
