China-ASEAN Elite Scholarship Application Guide
The China-ASEAN Elite Scholarship is funded by the Chinese government through the China-ASEAN Cooperation Fund to support educational exchange with ASEAN countries. It fully subsidises tuition, accommodation, airfare, medical insurance and living expenses for citizens of ASEAN member states pursuing master's or doctoral degrees, or short-term training in China.

Overview
The scholarship aims to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and the people of ASEAN countries, supporting young professionals with work experience to study or train in China.
Coverage/Benefits
The scholarship fully covers tuition, accommodation, airfare, living allowance, and comprehensive insurance. It does not cover settlement allowance.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens of ASEAN member countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam), aged 45 years or younger. Master's applicants require a bachelor's degree; doctoral applicants require a master's degree. All applicants must have at least one year of work experience and meet English language requirements (e.g. IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80).
Application
Applicants must apply via the Management Information System for Chinese Government Scholarships for Studying in China and submit paper materials to their national focal point or the ASEAN Universities Network Secretariat between January and March. Only candidates recommended by the Jakarta Joint Committee are considered.
Documents
Applicants must submit a completed online application, passport information page, notarised highest degree certificate, original transcripts, two recommendation letters from associate professors or above, personal resume and research plan, medical examination certificate, and other materials as required.
