The CUMT Scholarship is awarded to international students enrolled in undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programmes at China University of Mining and Technology, based on academic performance measured on a 4.0 GPA scale.
Coverage
Class A (GPA ≥3.2): 13,800–14,600 CNY/year (bachelor’s), 15,400 CNY/year (master’s), 17,000 CNY/year (doctoral). Class B (GPA ≥3.0): 6,900–7,300 CNY/year (bachelor’s), 7,700 CNY/year (master’s), 8,500 CNY/year (doctoral). Class C (GPA ≥2.8): 3,450–3,650 CNY/year (bachelor’s), 3,850 CNY/year (master’s), 4,250 CNY/year (doctoral).
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health, meet degree and age requirements for their level, satisfy language proficiency standards, and agree to abide by the laws of the People’s Republic of China.

Online application only via http://cumt.17gz.org/member/login.do between 1 January and 31 May 2018. Successful applicants register in September 2018 upon receipt of the admission letter.

Passport-sized photo and copy; notarised degree certificate and academic transcripts; HSK certificate (for Chinese-taught) or English proficiency certificate (IELTS/TOEFL); financial statement; research proposal and two recommendation letters (graduate applicants); physical examination form; non-criminal record certificate; PhD applicants must also submit a recommendation letter from their prospective supervisor.

- •Bachelor’s applicants must hold a high school diploma and be under 30; master’s applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35; doctoral applicants must hold a master’s degree and be under 40.
- •Chinese-taught programmes require HSK Level 4 with minimum score of 200 (undergraduate) or 220 (graduate).
- •English-taught programmes require native English speaker status, prior degree taught fully in English, IELTS ≥6.5, or TOEFL ≥90.
- •Applicants without sufficient Chinese language proficiency for Chinese-taught programmes must complete one year of Chinese language training before entering their major.
