Chinese Government Scholarship of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law

Overview

This Chinese Government Scholarship is administered by Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SHUPL) for international students in listed bachelor’s and master’s programmes in law, politics, economics, media, and related disciplines.

Coverage

Covers full tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive insurance, and a monthly living stipend: RMB 2,500 for undergraduates; RMB 3,000 for master’s and general visiting students.

Application

Applications are open from 10 February to 30 June each year. Applicants must apply through their local Chinese embassy or consulate, a designated project organisation, or the China Scholarship Council (CSC). Materials must also be emailed to [email protected] and paper copies sent to the SHUPL International Students Office. Admitted students receive an Admission Notice and JW202 form to apply for an X1 visa.

International Students Admission Application Form to Study at SHUPL; highest education certificate (notarised translation required if not in Chinese or English); official academic transcript; Health Examination Certificate; master’s applicants must submit a study/research plan of at least 1,000 words; HSK Level 4 or higher (photocopy); passport bio page; eight passport-sized photos; two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors (for master’s applicants); prior China study/leaving certificates and residence permit (if previously studied in China).
