Overview
The Chinese Learning Scholarship is awarded to full-time self-funded international undergraduate students of Fujian Medical University to encourage diligent Chinese language study and academic progress. There is no limit on the number of recipients.
Coverage
Award amounts depend on HSK level and when the test is taken: RMB 800 for HSK Level 4, RMB 1,000 for HSK Level 5, and RMB 1,200 for HSK Level 6 — if taken before the end of the sixth semester. If taken before the end of the ninth semester (before clinical practice), the amounts are RMB 450 (HSK 4), RMB 550 (HSK 5), and RMB 650 (HSK 6).
Eligibility
Applicants must be full-time self-funded international undergraduate students currently enrolled at Fujian Medical University. They must comply with PRC laws and university regulations, have no disciplinary warnings or above during the appraisal period, pay all fees (tuition, accommodation, insurance) on time, pass all Chinese course exams, and take the HSK test at Fujian Medical University. To qualify, scores must be above 180 on HSK Levels 4–6, taken either before the end of the sixth semester or before the end of the ninth semester.
Application
Applications open in the first month after the academic year begins. The Student Award Appraisal Leading Group of the Overseas Education College conducts preliminary assessment, followed by a three-working-day public announcement. Final approval is granted by the Fujian Medical University International Student Award Appraisal Leading Group, with results publicly announced for three working days.
