East China Normal University Excellent Freshman Scholarship

The East China Normal University Excellent Freshman Scholarship is a merit-based award for new full-time undergraduate international students. Funded by East China Normal University, it provides a monthly living allowance for the first academic year but does not cover tuition fees. Applicants must hold a valid foreign passport, achieve HSK5 score 180 or above, and demonstrate outstanding high school academic performance.

Overview

The scholarship supports outstanding new full-time undergraduate international students admitted to East China Normal University. It is awarded for the first academic year only and provides a living allowance without tuition exemption.

Coverage

2,500 CNY per month for 12 months, paid during the first academic year. Tuition fees are not covered.

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport, enrolled as full-time undergraduates, and have achieved an HSK5 score of at least 180. Strong high school academic records are required. Winners of national or international academic competitions are preferred. Recipients may not hold any other scholarship or fellowship concurrently.

Application

Applications must be submitted online at http://lxs.ecnu.edu.cn by 10 June. Results are announced by 20 June. A non-refundable application fee of 400 CNY (approximately 80 USD) must be paid via bank transfer.

Required documents include the completed online application form, notarised high school diploma and transcript, official HSK certificate, certificates of academic or extracurricular competition awards (if applicable), a personal statement and study plan, and the bank receipt confirming payment of the application fee.
