The East China Normal University Outstanding Undergraduate Freshman Scholarship supports non-Chinese citizens applying to undergraduate programs at ECNU. Overview
Established in 2016, this scholarship targets outstanding international undergraduate freshmen admitted to East China Normal University. It is awarded for the first academic year only and does not cover tuition fees.
Coverage/Benefits
The scholarship provides a total of RMB 30,000, disbursed as RMB 2,500 per month for 12 months. Tuition, accommodation, airfare, health insurance, and living allowance beyond the stipend are not covered.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding foreign passports and an equivalent of a Chinese high school diploma. They must possess an HSK-5 or higher certificate with an overall score of at least 180. Preference is given to winners of major international competitions or those with exceptional high school performance. Applicants must not hold any other scholarship concurrently.
Application
Applicants must apply online via ECNU’s International Education Center website, upload required documents, and mail original materials—including the scholarship application form, high school diploma and transcript (or certificate of expected graduation), HSK certificate copy, competition award certificates, passport copy, personal statement (≤2 pages), and proof of RMB 400 materials processing fee remittance—to ECNU’s International Students Office.
