ECUST Presidential Scholarship for International Students

The ECUST Presidential Scholarship is awarded annually to eight outstanding international master’s and doctoral students at East China University of Science and Technology. Three full scholarships follow the standards of the Chinese Government Scholarship for PhD students; five partial scholarships follow Shanghai municipal government scholarship standards for master’s students.

Overview

Launched in 2016, the ECUST Presidential Scholarship allocates eight places per year: three for outstanding international PhD students and five for master’s students.

Coverage

Three full scholarships align with the Chinese Government Scholarship standard for PhD students. Five partial scholarships align with the Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship standard for master’s students.

Programs

Open to all master’s and PhD programmes. Priority is given to applicants in ECUST’s key disciplines.

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health, meet degree and age requirements, and not hold any other scholarship at the time of application.

Application

Applicants register online at http://apply.ecust.edu.cn, select ‘ECUST Presidential Scholarship’, upload required documents, and mail the complete application package to the College of International Education.

Documents

Required documents include the ECUST international student application form, passport copy, highest diploma and transcripts (with notarised English or Chinese translations), a study or research plan of at least 500 words, and two recommendation letters from professors.
