Fuzhou University Scholarship
The Fuzhou University Scholarship (FZS) is a merit-based award for international students enrolled in degree or language programmes at Fuzhou University. It is funded by the university and covers tuition, accommodation, insurance, and living expenses. Overview
The Fuzhou University Scholarship (FZS) supports international students pursuing undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, or language training programmes at Fuzhou University. It is awarded for one academic year and is generally not extended beyond the standard duration of the student’s programme. The scholarship is paid in RMB and may be used for registration, tuition, accommodation, insurance, and living expenses.
Coverage
I. Comprehensive Award: For degree and language training students meeting academic and conduct standards. Funding is annual and non-renewable beyond the normal programme length. II. Short Term Training Award: For international students studying at Fuzhou University for less than six months under inter-university exchange agreements. Only students from institutions with formal exchange agreements are eligible.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health, abide by Chinese laws and Fuzhou University regulations, and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Degree students must study on campus for at least nine months per academic year. Applicants must have strong academic records and good moral character. Priority is given to those with achievements in arts, sports, cultural exchange, scientific research, or public service, and those recommended by Fujian provincial authorities or international friendship organisations.

Applications open annually from 1 March to 15 May. Applicants must submit admission applications to the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange before the deadline and email all materials to [email protected]. Two letters of recommendation from individuals holding associate professor rank or higher (for master’s and doctoral applicants). 6. Legal guardianship documents (for applicants under 18). 7. HSK certificate (not required for language training or English-taught programmes, though Chinese language and culture courses are mandatory for English-taught students). All documents must be submitted in both Chinese and English.

- •Applicants for undergraduate study must have completed senior high school and be under 30.
- •Applicants for master’s study must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35.
- •Applicants for doctoral study must hold a master’s degree and be under 40.
- •General or advanced training students must meet relevant degree requirements and be under 50.
- •Undergraduate and graduate applicants must achieve HSK Level 5 (HSK Level 6 preferred); language training and English-taught programme applicants are exempt from HSK requirements.
- •Applicants cannot hold the Chinese Government Scholarship or Fujian Government Scholarship concurrently with this award.
- •Students who violate Chinese law, university regulations, or fail required courses are ineligible.
