Overview
The Harbin Engineering University Scholarship for Foreign Students (HEU Scholarship) is established to attract outstanding international students. It is awarded based on fairness, impartiality, and openness, and targets non-Chinese students with excellent character and academic performance, including those enrolled in degree programs or inter-university exchange/joint cultivation programs.
Coverage/Benefits
Full Scholarship: tuition waiver and living allowance (RMB 2,000/month for undergraduates; RMB 3,000/month for master's students; RMB 3,500/month for doctoral students). First Class Scholarship: full tuition waiver. Second Class Scholarship: 50% tuition waiver. Accommodation, airfare, health insurance, and settlement allowance are not covered.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health, friendly to China, respectful of Chinese social morals and customs, law-abiding, of good character, and academically diligent. Degree levels accepted: bachelor, master, and doctoral. Minimum language requirement: HSK Level 4. Minimum GPA: 85 for full scholarship, 80 for first class, 75 for second class.
Application
Applications must be submitted to the International Students Office, Harbin Engineering University, between May 8 and May 31 each year before 17:00. The selection results are announced after evaluation based on academic performance and extracurricular achievements.
Documents
Undergraduate applicants must submit: completed admission and scholarship application forms; passport copy; HSK Level 4 or higher certificate; notarized high school or college graduation certificate and transcripts; registration fee of RMB 400; and Record of Physical Examination for Foreigners. Master's and doctoral applicants must also submit notarized highest academic qualification certificates, study/research plan (≥800 words), two letters of recommendation, and academic transcripts.
