Huazhong Normal University Study Abroad Huazhong Freshman Scholarships
The Central China Normal University Freshman Scholarship is a university-funded award for non-Chinese citizens applying to undergraduate, master's, or doctoral programs. Undergraduate applicants must be no older than 25 years old; master's applicants no older than 35; and doctoral applicants no older than 45. Overview
Central China Normal University (CCNU) offers the President's Scholarship Program, established in 2009, with 50 scholarships annually for international students enrolling in academic programs. All majors open to international students are eligible.
Coverage/Benefits
The scholarship covers tuition only. It does not cover accommodation, airfare, health insurance, living allowance, or settlement allowance. Awards include: 5 full-tuition scholarships, 15 semi-tuition scholarships, and 30 scholarships offering tuition waivers of $2,000–$8,000.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. Undergraduate applicants must hold a high school diploma and be ≤25 years old; master's applicants must hold a bachelor's degree and be ≤35; doctoral applicants must hold a master's degree and be ≤45.
Application
Applications are accepted annually from April 20 to May 20. Applicants must apply via CCNU’s online application system at http://isao.ccnu.edu.cn and select 'Apply for Scholarship'.
Documents
Required documents include: (1) the automatically generated Application Form for Study Abroad in Central China Normal University; (2) notarized highest academic qualification certificate (or enrollment certificate if currently studying), with notarized Chinese or English translation if in another language; (3) academic transcripts with notarized Chinese or English translation; (4) a study or research plan in China (≥500 words in English); (5) two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors.
