Coverage/Benefits

First-class: full tuition and accommodation fees. Second-class: full tuition fees. Third-class: half of full tuition fees.

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens from Belt and Road countries, in good health, and meet age limits: ≤35 years old for language and undergraduate programs, ≤40 for master’s, and ≤45 for doctoral programs. Chinese-medium programs require HSK 4 or 5; English-medium programs accept IELTS or TOEFL. Applicants must not have received other Chinese government or external scholarships.

Application

Applications are accepted from January 1 to June 30 each year. Applicants must complete online registration at http://nwu.17gz.org, then email electronic copies of documents to [email protected] and mail paper documents to the School of International Cultural Exchange.

Documents

Required documents include: signed application form; passport copy; graduation certificate or enrolment certificate; academic transcripts; physical examination form for foreigners; HSK or TOEFL/IELTS certificate; study or research program in China (≥800 words); two recommendation letters (for master’s and doctoral applicants); supervisor acceptance letter (for master’s and doctoral applicants); and relevant patents or academic papers. Non-Chinese/English documents require notarised translations.
