Notice on Applications for the 2024 Peking University International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship Program—General Training/Preparatory Program
This scholarship supports non-Chinese nationals studying Chinese language at Peking University through a general training or preparatory program. It is funded by the Center for Sino-Foreign Language Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China. Designated recommending organizations may nominate outstanding students and in-service Chinese teachers. Applicants must be aged 18–35 and meet specified HSK and HSKK score requirements.

Overview
The scholarship supports non-Chinese nationals studying Chinese language at Peking University via general training or preparatory programs. It is established by the Center for Sino-Foreign Language Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China to promote international Chinese language education and teacher development.
Coverage/Benefits
The scholarship covers full tuition, double-room accommodation in Peking University’s Zhongguansinyuan international student dormitory, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance for international students coming to China. Airfare and settlement allowance are not covered.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals, physically and mentally healthy, of good character and academic performance, and interested in Chinese language education. They must be aged 18–35. HSK/HSKK requirements vary by program direction: for Chinese Language and Literature, HSK Level 4 (180) and HSKK Intermediate (60); for preparatory program applicants, HSK Level 3 (180) with HSKK score required.
Application
Applicants must complete two online applications: one via Peking University’s International Student Online Application System (www.studyatpku.com, code ICLTS GTS or ICLTS-GVS), and another via the International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship website (cis.chinese.cn). Paper application materials must be mailed by China Post (EMS) before the deadline.

Required documents include: Peking University Admission Application Form; International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship Application Form; highest academic qualification certificate or school attendance certificate (in Chinese or English, or notarized translation); transcripts; two letters of recommendation (one may be from the recommending organization); HSK and HSKK transcripts; passport copy; and, for applicants under 18, a legal guardian proxy document.
