Overview
Administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), the China Link Program aims to foster academic exchange among young researchers worldwide. BLCU hosts participants conducting short-term research in fields including Chinese language and literature, Chinese international education, and international economics and trade.
Coverage/Benefits
Full scholarship coverage includes tuition fee exemption, on-campus accommodation fee waiver, comprehensive medical insurance, and a monthly living allowance: RMB 3000 for general advanced students (undergraduate and master’s level), and RMB 3500 for senior advanced students (doctoral and faculty level).
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-PRC nationals in good physical and mental health. General advanced students must be ≤45 years old; senior advanced students ≤50 years old. Applicants must be full-time students or faculty at a foreign partner institution of the CSC (list in Annex 1) and must obtain a pre-admission notice from BLCU prior to application.

Applicants must first email BLCU ([email protected]) to submit materials and obtain a pre-admission notice. Then complete the online application via the CSC system (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn) and upload required documents, including study/research plan (≥500 words), transcripts, language proficiency proof (e.g., HSK, IELTS, TOEFL), and medical examination form.

Required documents include: BLCU China Link application form; passport front page (valid ≥6 months); proof of enrolment or employment; academic transcripts; language proficiency certificate (if available); study/research plan (≥500 words); Foreigner’s Physical Examination Form (valid ≤6 months); and certificate of no criminal record (issued ≤6 months prior to application).
