Overview
NUIST offers this scholarship to attract outstanding foreign students into its undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programmes. It is a tuition-only award and cannot be held concurrently with other Chinese government scholarships.
Coverage/Benefits
Covers full tuition fees only. Does not cover accommodation, airfare, health insurance, living allowance, or settlement allowance.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health and academic standing. Master’s applicants must be ≤35 years old; doctoral applicants ≤40 years old. Language requirements: HSK 4 (≥180 points) for Chinese-taught programmes; TOEFL ≥80 or IELTS ≥6 for English-taught programmes.
Application
Applications must be submitted via NUIST’s online application system by 15 June. Applicants must select "NUIST Outstanding New Student Scholarship" during submission.
Documents
Required documents include passport copy, recent photo, graduation certificate or pre-graduation certificate, academic transcript (with certified translation), two recommendation letters, supervisor acceptance letter (for doctoral applicants), study/research plan (≥800 words), language test scores, physical examination form, and optional supporting materials such as awards or publications.
