“One Belt One Road” Scholarship of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law

Overview

The 'One Belt One Road' Scholarship is awarded by Shanghai University of Political Science and Law to support international students from Belt and Road countries. It is a one-time financial subsidy granted upon registration in the first year of study.

Coverage

A one-time subsidy of RMB 10,000 is awarded at the time of registration in the first year.

Eligibility

Undergraduate applicants must be non-Chinese citizens aged 18–30 with a high school certificate or higher. Master’s applicants must be non-Chinese citizens aged 18–45 with a bachelor’s degree or higher. Language programme applicants must be non-Chinese citizens aged 18–30 with a high school certificate or higher.

Application

Applications are accepted annually from 1 January to 31 December. Applicants must submit materials via the SHUPL Admission System and email a completed application form with supporting documents to [email protected]. Paper copies must also be mailed to the Department of Admission and Program Development, School of International Communication and Exchange (International Students Office), Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.

Documents

Required documents include: completed International Students Admission Application Form; highest education certificate (with notarised Chinese or English translation if needed); official academic transcript (with notarised Chinese or English translation if needed); Health Examination Certificate; study or research plan (minimum 1,000 words, in Chinese or English, for master’s applicants); HSK Level 4 or higher certificate; passport personal information page copy; eight passport-sized photos; two recommendation letters (for master’s applicants, from associate professors or professors, in Chinese or English); certificates of prior study in China (if applicable); Economic Guarantee Letter or Personal Certificate of Deposit (with sponsor’s signature and guarantor’s passport copy).
