Overseas Students’ Scholarship at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law

The Overseas Students’ Scholarship at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) supports international bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students across nine academic fields. Full scholarships cover registration, tuition (including experiment/practice fees), dormitory lodging (750 CNY/month standard), a 2,500 CNY/month living allowance, and 800 CNY/year insurance. Overview

The ZUEL Overseas Students’ Scholarship is available to international applicants enrolling in degree programmes in economics, law, management, philosophy, literature, history, science, technology, or art.

Coverage

Full scholarship: registration and tuition fees (including experiment and practice fees), free double-occupancy dormitory room (valued at 750 CNY/month), monthly living allowance of 2,500 CNY, and overseas student insurance (800 CNY/year). Partial scholarship: registration and tuition waiver plus 800 CNY/year insurance. Duration matches the length of the enrolled programme.

Eligibility

Applicants must be foreign passport holders with no criminal record, friendly towards China, and meet academic and language requirements specific to their degree level and instruction language.

Application

Applications must be submitted directly to the International Education School between 1 March and 31 May. Results are announced before 1 June; admission documents must be submitted by 15 July.

  • Applicants must hold a foreign passport, have no criminal record, and be friendly towards China.
  • Bachelor’s applicants in Chinese-taught programmes must have HSK Level 4 or above and strong secondary school academic performance.
  • Graduate applicants in Chinese-taught programmes must have HSK Level 5 or above and a university GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Graduate applicants in English-taught programmes must have IELTS ≥6.5 or TOEFL ≥90 (native English speakers exempt) and a university GPA of 3.0 or higher.
