Overview
Peking University admits international students for master’s and doctoral degrees across disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, literature, science, engineering, medicine, and more. Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passports. Master’s applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree; doctoral applicants must hold a master’s degree (or bachelor’s degree for direct PhD programs in science and technology). Applicants must meet language requirements: for Chinese-taught programs, HSK Level 6 (200–210+, depending on discipline, with ≥65 in writing); for English-taught programs, TOEFL iBT ≥100 or GRE ≥315.
Application
Applicants must apply online via Peking University’s International Student Online Service System (www.studyatpku.com) between October 20 and December 23, 2025 (Beijing Time). Each application incurs an RMB 800 fee. Up to two applications may be submitted.
Documents
Required documents include: degree certificates and authentication reports (from MOE’s Service Center for Scholarly Exchange or Xuexin); official transcripts; personal statement (1500 words for master’s, 3000 for doctoral); CV and letter of commitment; two letters of recommendation; language test transcripts (HSK or TOEFL/GRE); passport front page; and research results (if available). All documents must be color-scanned originals.
