Shandong University Jinan Sister City Scholarship

The Jinan Sister City Scholarship, funded by the Jinan Municipal Government and hosted by Shandong University, supports international students from cities officially twinned with Jinan. Degree students receive up to CNY 25,000 per academic year; long-term non-degree students receive up to CNY 20,000 per academic year for up to two years. A separate Distinguished International Students Scholarship covers shorter language, professional, or exchange programmes.

Overview

The Jinan Sister City Scholarship is established by the Jinan Municipal Government to promote educational exchange with its sister cities. Shandong University serves as one of the host institutions.

Coverage

• Full Scholarship for degree students: up to CNY 25,000 per person per academic year, for the duration of the programme (pro-rated if shorter) • Full Scholarship for long-term non-degree students: up to CNY 20,000 per person per academic year, for up to two academic years (pro-rated if shorter) • Distinguished International Students Scholarship: for language, professional, or exchange programmes lasting less than one academic year; disbursed directly to the student • Full Scholarship funds are administered by Shandong University and cover registration, tuition, experiment/internship fees, accommodation, insurance, learning materials, and part of living expenses

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens from cities officially twinned with Jinan (including cities with formal friendly relations), meet Shandong University’s admission requirements, be in good health, abide by Chinese laws and university regulations, maintain good conduct, and not hold any other scholarship or financial aid.

Application

Two application windows annually: February–May (awards allocated in October) and September–November (awards allocated in March). Applicants must email scanned documents to [email protected] and post original documents to: International Student Admissions Office, C301 Mingde Building, Central Campus, Shandong University, No. 27 South Shanda Road, Jinan, China. Results are published in January and June; disbursements occur before 30 March and 30 October respectively.
