Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health, not currently enrolled at a Chinese university, and not receiving another Chinese government scholarship. Age limits apply: under 25 for undergraduate, under 35 for master’s, under 40 for doctoral, under 45 for general scholars (with at least two years of undergraduate study), and under 50 for senior scholars (master’s degree holders or associate professors and above).

CSC application form, notarised highest diploma and academic transcripts, study plan, two recommendation letters (for master’s and senior scholar applicants), guardian documents (if under 18), physical examination form, conditional admission letter from SMU (if available), and language proficiency proof: HSK Level 4 for Chinese-medium programmes or TOEFL 80 / IELTS 6.0 for English-medium programmes.
