Shanghai Ocean University President’s Scholarship

The Shanghai Ocean University President’s Scholarship is funded by Shanghai Ocean University and offers three types: Type A (full tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, monthly living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance), Type B (tuition waiver plus insurance), and Type C (50% tuition waiver plus insurance). It is open to non-Chinese citizens applying for bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral programmes across all majors. Applicants must pay a RMB 400 application fee.

Overview

Shanghai Ocean University President’s Scholarship has three tiers: Type A, Type B, and Type C. All academic disciplines are eligible.

Coverage

Type A covers full tuition, free on-campus accommodation, a monthly living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance. Type B covers full tuition and comprehensive medical insurance. Type C covers 50% of tuition and comprehensive medical insurance.

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. Bachelor’s applicants must be under 35 years old and hold a high school diploma. Master’s applicants must be under 40 and hold a bachelor’s degree. Doctoral applicants must be under 45 and hold a master’s degree.

Applicants must register online via admissions.shou.edu.cn, pay the RMB 400 application fee by online payment or bank transfer, and email required documents to [email protected].

Completed online application form; copy of passport (and visa page if residing outside home country); degree certificates and transcripts for the highest completed level; language certificate (HSK 4 ≥ 180 for undergraduate Chinese-taught programmes; HSK 5 ≥ 180 for postgraduate Chinese-taught programmes; IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80+ within two years for English-taught programmes, unless native English speaker); personal statement; CV; research proposal (for postgraduate applicants); two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.
