Shanghai University of Political Science and Law Chinese Government Scholarship
This Chinese Government Scholarship is administered by the China Scholarship Council for non-Chinese citizens to study at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. It covers tuition, on-campus accommodation, living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance. Overview
The scholarship supports undergraduate and master’s degree students at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. Programmes are offered in law, economics, business, social sciences, journalism, international relations, and Chinese language education.
Coverage/Benefits
The scholarship covers full tuition, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and a monthly living allowance: RMB 2,500 for undergraduates and RMB 3,000 for master’s students. Airfare and settlement allowance are not covered.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. Undergraduate applicants must be aged 18–30 and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Master’s applicants must be aged 18–45 and hold a bachelor’s degree or higher. All applicants must hold an HSK level 4 certificate or above.
Application
Applications are accepted from 10 February to 30 June annually. Applicants may apply through their home country’s Chinese embassy or consulate, designated programme organisations, or the China Scholarship Council website. They must also email application materials to [email protected] and send paper copies to the School of International Exchange at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.
Documents
Required documents include: completed application form; highest academic qualification certificate (with notarised Chinese or English translation if needed); academic transcripts; health examination certificate; research plan (for master’s applicants, ≥1,000 words); HSK level 4 certificate; passport information page; eight passport-sized photographs; two recommendation letters (for master’s applicants, from professors or associate professors); and, for current students in China, proof of enrolment and temporary residence permit.
