SHUTCM Major-Specific Scholarship

The SHUTCM Major-Specific Scholarship supports self-funded international undergraduate students enrolled in English-taught Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) or Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It offers RMB 12,000 per year for Acupuncture (Class A) or RMB 8,000 per year for Integrative Medicine (Class B), payable for up to five years.

This scholarship is for self-funded international undergraduate students studying English-taught Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) or Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Coverage

Class A (TCM Acupuncture): RMB 12,000 per year, up to five years. Class B (Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine): RMB 8,000 per year, up to five years. Payment occurs only after tuition for that year is settled. The scholarship is suspended during leave of absence and resumes upon return.

Eligibility

Applicants must be self-supported international undergraduates in years 1–5 of the specified English-taught majors. First-year students may apply directly. Other students must demonstrate excellent academic performance and active participation in university activities. Except for first-year and first-year transfer students, applicants must have earned 100% of required credits from the prior year’s teaching programme. The scholarship cannot be held alongside most Chinese government or Shanghai municipal scholarships, except the CSC Excellent Self-supported Student Scholarship.

Application

The International Student Office reviews and publicly announces eligible students at the start of each academic year (for at least three working days), followed by confirmation after college review. Awards are cancelled if the student receives disciplinary action, fails to sit exams, or withdraws before payment. These rules apply to students enrolled from 2017 onwards.
