Tianjin University Scholarships for Foreign Students

Overview

Tianjin University offers scholarships to encourage and support outstanding foreign students studying undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degrees. Scholarships are divided into first-class (tuition and living expenses) and second-class (tuition only).

Coverage/Benefits

First-class scholarships cover tuition and living expenses. Second-class scholarships cover tuition only.

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. Bachelor’s applicants must be aged 18–35 with a high school diploma; master’s applicants must be aged ≤40 with a bachelor’s degree; doctoral applicants must be aged ≤45 with a master’s degree. English-taught programme applicants must submit TOEFL (≥80) or IELTS (≥6.0), or pass a university interview.

Application

Applications close at the end of June each year. Accepted students begin studies in September.

Documents

Required documents include: Tianjin University admission and scholarship application forms (with photos); notarised highest academic qualification certificate (or expected graduation certificate if current student); academic transcripts with notarised English or Chinese translation; passport copy; English test certificate (TOEFL/IELTS) or interview confirmation; certificate of no criminal record; study and research plan (≥800 words, for master’s and doctoral applicants); and two recommendation letters (from associate professors or above for master’s; professors for doctoral).
