Overview
The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) offers scholarships to support outstanding foreign students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees, academic visits, thematic research, and joint training. Full scholarships are prioritised for graduate students.
Coverage/Benefits
Full scholarships include tuition waiver, living allowance (2,000 RMB/month for master’s and general advanced students; 2,500 RMB/month for doctoral and advanced advanced students), basic accommodation in Beijing for students recruited by Beijing-based institutes or during centralised teaching, and comprehensive medical insurance (800 RMB/year). Partial scholarships cover one or more of these items. Airfare and settlement allowance are not covered.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens eligible for UCAS admission. Master’s applicants must be born on or after 1 January 1988; doctoral applicants on or after 1 January 1983; advanced students must be ≤40 years old. Language proficiency requires TOEFL ≥90, IELTS ≥6.5, or HSK Level 5 ≥200 (200+ score), or evidence of English-medium undergraduate instruction. Joint training applicants must be enrolled at a partner foreign university with a signed cooperation agreement.

Applicants must first secure supervisor acceptance, then submit an online admission application via http://adis.ucas.ac.cn. Required materials include passport information page, recent photo, CV, degree and transcript copies, language certificate, study plan, up to five representative publications, two recommendation letters, and a completed Foreigner’s Physical Examination Form.
