About Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University

Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) is located in Zhuhai and was established as the first full-scale higher education collaboration between mainland China and Hong Kong. It adopted its current name in March 2025, having previously operated as United International College (UIC). Instruction is conducted entirely in English. Undergraduate students complete liberal arts–style programmes across business, culture and creativity, humanities and social sciences, and science and technology. Graduates receive a bachelor’s degree from Hong Kong Baptist University and a graduation certificate from BNBU.

United International College (UIC) is in Zhuhai, next to Hong Kong and Macau in the Pearl River Delta. It was jointly founded by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) as the first full-scale Mainland–Hong Kong higher education cooperation; its charter was approved by the Ministry of Education with local support. Teaching is in English. Nineteen undergraduate programs are offered through three divisions: Business and Management; Humanities and Social Science; and Science and Technology. Enrollment of Category 1 candidates covers more than 20 provinces and municipalities; about 4,000 students. Teaching staff come from more than 20 countries and regions for four-year all-English teaching. Graduates receive both a Bachelor’s Degree from HKBU and a Graduation Certificate from UIC.
