China University of Mining and Technology was founded in 1909 and is based in Xuzhou, a city in northern Jiangsu province known for its natural setting and urban infrastructure. It operates as a national key university under the direct administration of China’s Ministry of Education and participates in the ‘211 Project’ and the ‘985 Innovation Platform for Advantageous Disciplines’. The university offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programmes across engineering, sciences, humanities and social sciences, with particular academic focus on mining and safety engineering—both designated National Double First-class Construction Disciplines since 2017.
