Confucius Institute Scholarship (Guizhou University Program)
Guizhou University’s Confucius Institute Scholarship, funded by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, supports foreign students, scholars, and Chinese language teachers studying Chinese Language and Literature. The 2017 intake offered one-academic-year (11 months) and one-semester (5 months) full or partial awards. Full scholarships include registration and tuition waiver, free on-campus dormitory, comprehensive medical insurance, and a CNY 2,500 monthly living allowance; partial scholarships omit the allowance.

Overview
This Confucius Institute Scholarship supports foreign students, scholars, and Chinese language teachers studying Chinese Language and Literature at Guizhou University. Since 2010, over 130 students have enrolled under the programme.
Coverage
Awards include registration and tuition fee waiver, free on-campus dormitory accommodation, and comprehensive medical insurance. Full scholarships also provide a CNY 2,500 monthly living allowance; partial scholarships do not include this allowance.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health with no criminal record, aged 16–35 (or under 45 for in-post Chinese language teachers). One-academic-year applicants require HSK 4 ≥180 and HSKK Intermediate ≥60, and must not already be studying in China. One-semester applicants require HSK 3 ≥210 and an HSKK report, and must have no prior study experience in China.

Applications must be submitted via http://cis.chinese.cn by 15 May 2017. Recommending institutions must approve applications by 25 May 2017. Results are typically confirmed in late June; admission documents are issued in July.
