About Wuyi University (Wuyishan)

Wuyi University (WYU) is a public university in Wuyishan, Fujian, an international tourism city and UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage site. Founded in 1958 as a teachers’ college, it also presents itself as successor to the Neo-Confucian Wuyi Academy associated with Zhu Xi (Chu Hsi) of the Song Dynasty. It is a Fujian provincial overseas Chinese education base and a center for Chinese traditional culture experience. It recruits degree and non-degree overseas students from countries including the United States, Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zambia, Pakistan, Ghana, Kenya, and Bangladesh.
